Descrizione: IT Lettera di un consultore del ' Santo Ufficio ’. In essa si condanna il suo libro XX Centenario di San Pietro Apostolo. Mancò poco che quest’opera venisse messa all’Indice. In questa lettera proveniente da Roma (righe 7 e 8), si parla di « un grave abbaglio in materia teologica ». Don Bosco afferma, a pag. 192, che la presenza di San Pietro in Roma « è discussione storica estranea alla fede ». Il Santo corresse immediatamente il passo incriminato nella seconda edizione, e cosi evitò la condanna. Ma l’incidente gli cagionò grande dispiacere e pena profonda.; IT A letter from one of the Consuitors of the Holy Office. It con-demns his book “ The 20th Centenary of St.Peter the Apostle”. The book narrowly escaped being put on the Index. In this letter from Rome (lines 7 and 8) it speaks of a grave mistake in theological matters. On page 192 Don Bosco had said that St. Peter’s presence in Rome was “a historical discussion extraneous to faith.” The Saint immediately corrected this passage in the next edition, and thus avoided the condemnation. But the incident caused him great displeasure and a deep sorrow.
