Il 30 marzo 1846, quando fu per la seconda volta citato davanti al sindaco Michele Cavour, Don Bosco temette che la sua opera venisse condannata e proibita. Ma il re lo salvò. « È mia volontà — ordinò con un decreto firmato di sua mano — che queste riunioni siano aiutate e protette ».; IT King Charles Albert of Savoy. When Don Bosco was summoned for the second time to appear before the mayor, Michael Cavour, he was afraid that his work would be condemned and forbidden. But the king saved him. In his own hand, he issued a decree which stated: “It is my wish that these gatherings be helped and protected.”
