Mamma Margherita e Giuseppe vi avevano preso a mezzadria un modesto podere, dopo di essersi separati da Antonio. Giovanni veniva quassù a passare le vacanze. In questa panoramica si scorge, tra le colline, Mombello a sinistra, e più in alto, a destra, Moncucco. Dietro la cresta delle colline è Cinzano, dove Giovanni si recava sovente a trovare Luigi Comollo, suo compagno di scuola. Sullo sfondo, le Alpi e le loro cime nevose, che circondano a nord Torino e il Piemonte.; IT Sussambrino. A small stretch of land between Becchi and Castelnuovo, rich in vineyards. After separating from Anthony, Mamma Margaret and Joseph had a small holding here. John used to spend his holidays here. In this scene we see Mombello, to the left, and Moncucco, to the right. Behind the hills is Cinzano, where John would often go to see his friend Aloysius Comollo, a school companion. In the background are the snow-capped Alps, which encircle Turin and Piedmont to the north.
