- <On January 12, 2010 a 7.0-magnitude earthquake centered about 25 km from Port-au-Prince struck Haiti. This event has shocked a country already exhausted by the struggle against poverty. Destruction, death, despair, have hopelessly burdened the lives of thousands of people. Salesians and their students have been uplifted by the visit of the Salesian Rector Major and he has brought witness to the solidarity of the congregation and of the Salesian Family.>
