<Salesian Missionary Day 2012 - Video 9 In Asia the mass media have had and continue to have a special role in shaping the world, cultures and ways of thinking producing great and rapid changes. Faithful to Don Bosco's charism, the Salesians are educators and evangelisers of the young and of the ordinary people also using the mass media.>
<Salesian Missionary Day has a history now going back almost a hundred years. Started as a means of strengthening a missionary culture and the missionary spirit among Salesians and among the young they care for. For 2012, the Department for the Missions has invited the Salesians of the world to turn their gaze towards Asia, with the telling of the story of Jesus and the theme.>
<Salesian Missionary Day 2012 - Video 8 Of the numerous countries making up Asia, only two have a Catholic majority: East Timor and the Philippines; in the others, p99Catholics are a minority who, according to the times in history and to socio-political circumstances, have been accepted, tolerated or oppressed. The charism of Don Bosco is well-rooted there and constantly expanding. The Salesians are slightly more than 4000; to them can be added the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians and other groups of the Salesian Family, some of which began in this continent.>

<150 anni fa nasceva la Tipografia dell'Oratorio, com'era chiamata la prima Scuola Grafica Salesiana, che avviò la sua produzione in modo familiare nel 1862, soltanto con un torchio e due macchine a ruota. Negli anni la tipografia si è trasformata per rimanere al passo dei tempi, adattandosi alle nuove tecnologie, grazie alla lungimiranza e al coraggio di Don Bosco e dei suoi successori... due cose però non sono cambiate: il clima di Famiglia e la professionalità.>
